    Description

    ABOUT:
Such a beautiful antique late Georgian / early Victorian mourning ring with bands of black enamel around detailed gold work in a closed back setting.  In 9k gold with nice shine and patina, the enamel has held up particularly well considering age.  The ring face and shoulders are decorated and inside the back of the ring face is a name, along with "11 July 1832 Died May 1837"
It is heartbreaking to think about (as most mourning pieces are actually) but a beautiful piece of antique jewelry.  I acquired this piece in England. It is stamped 9CT (for 9k gold) inside the band.
(Box used for staging is not included.)
    MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7, ring face is about 12mm by 9mm.
    IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition.  Gold has held up very well as has the enamel considering age.  There are a few areas of loss, a speck in one corner revealing the gold underneath, and then some chips to the enamel in other areas where it still presents mostly as black but just a bit thinner or uneven at the surface.  One corner of the inside square also has some wear to the enamel softening that corner.  Still a fantastic and eye catching piece.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
I would be delighted if you'd follow me.  Thanks for stopping by!
