XL Black FRENCH Jet Victorian Beaded Oval LOCKET Pendant Black Mourning Necklace

ABOUT:
Old and beautiful Victorian Mourning locket pendant with a lovely beaded design. This is an antique piece that is thicker than your average locket with two compartments inside separated by a glass pane that flips between the two sides and even has a little protruding metal "handle" that you can use with your finger to flip it side to side.
I believe and am fairly certain it is French Jet, as I acquired it in France, and it is cold to the touch.   It looks like it has been set into a brass metal frame that was painted black.  The inside appears to be textured and also painted / lacquered.
Either way, it is a wonderfully unique Antique piece dating from the 1800s to the turn of the century.   It is a real statement piece.
Chain not included.
MARKS:
No hallmarks that I could decipher.
MEASUREMENTS:
It measures a little over 1 1/4 inch wide and hangs about 1 3/4 inches from the top of the loop to the bottom.
CONDITION:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. A few nicks to the edges of the oval stone. The locket hinge is tight so it feels sturdy. Some discoloration from age where the black has worn away revealing the underlying brass. Some surface wear but presents nicely.
Due to age, please note this is not a mint condition item.
Still many years left in this old and rare beauty from an interesting period in history.
